Dorothy Haraminac, CFE, MAFF

Ms. Haraminac is the first (and so far, the only) financial expert witness to be qualified in court for bitcoin asset and cryptocurrency tracing.   Ms. Haraminac is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE from ACFE), a Master Analyst in Financial Forensics (MAFF from NACVA), a Licensed Private Investigator (PI from TX PSB), and a Licensed CE Instructor (TX PSB). She has conducted traditional fraud investigations and financial forensic engagements, deploying sophisticated methods to determine whether indications of fraud exist, to prevent fraud, and to assess the risk of fraud in an organization. In addition, Ms. Haraminac’s unique background enabled her to pioneer investigations in cryptofraud, frauds perpetrated with the use of cryptocurrency such as bitcoin, ether, or others. She has developed hybrid investigative approaches that blend traditional investigative methods with digital forensic expertise and is available for expert witness testimony in complex disputes where these issues arise. Dennis Parker

"Interview Techniques"

Dennis Parker brings a unique perspective to the understanding of investigative interviewing because of his diverse experience in law enforcement and insurance fraud investigation.  Dennis has more than 18 years of law enforcement experience from the municipal to the federal level.  He also graduated from several law enforcement training academies and other training courses designed specifically for police or investigative interviewing.  Dennis earned a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice from Sam Houston State University, Huntsville Texas in 1985.
Dennis also has more than 10 years experience investigating and managing insurance fraud programs.  The validity of a suspicious claim is usually determined after in-person interviews or a more structured Examination-Under-Oath (EUO).  During those years Dennis conducted more than 1200 EUOs and interviews of claimants suspected of insurance fraud. The majority of those interviews were in the presence of the suspect’s attorney.
Dennis’ work experience includes 5 years as a police officer in and around Houston Texas and 13 years in the United States Air Force as an NCO and Commissioned Officer.  As an Air Force OSI special agent, Dennis led a group of federal investigators tasked with investigating felony criminal, major fraud and counter-intelligence cases.  His investigations included child abuse and child homicide investigations, one of which is highlighted in his 8 hour course.
Dennis has provided classes to law enforcement, Children’s and Adult’s Protective Services, Probation departments and insurance investigators for more than 8 years. He has also been a conference speaker at the annual Texas Adult Protective Services conference in San Antonio Texas for there years.

Michael Pivarnik

"Regulatory Compliance"

Michael J. Pivarnik is a US Navy Veteran and the owner of MJ Pivarnik & Co. a Texas based Investigations and Security Agency licensed currently in 3 states since 2008. He is the co- founder and VP of Corporate Security for NAORCA Inc. (National Anti-Organized Retail Crime Association) and has been published in National Retailers Magazine on the topic of Organized Retail Crime. He also serves as a corporate security consultant for the NRF (National Retail Foundation).  He is a NRA Proctor and a licensed classroom and firearms instructor for Level 2,3 and 4 for Texas DPS, LTC Program and is a TCOLE Certified Instructor for Texas law enforcement. He has been interviewed by local TV news organizations on the topic of firearms in today’s society.  As of late, he has been deeply involved with the murder investigation of a cold case in Jennings, Louisiana called the “The Jennings 8” which is slated to air late next year on Discovery ID channel. He has created a unique platform of information services for his company that cater to Attorney’s, Private Investigators, Law Enforcement, and Major Corporations dealing in financial crimes, internal retail theft, financial investigations and deep background on domestic and international levels. A member of TALI, FALI, CALI, ASSI and NCISS, he is also a former law enforcement officer on local, state and federal levels. Retired from federal law enforcement for the United States Department of Interior (BIA) in 2008 and began his endeavors for the private sector for investigative, security and executive protection arenas.


Andy Valdez

Andy Valadez is the Founder and President of Marketing Dynamics based in Houston and is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a Degree Marketing with a minor in Public Relations and received an Applied Business from the prestigious Tulane University in New Orleans. He served honorably in the United States Marine Corps during Desert Storm/Desert Shield and has received numerous letters of appreciation, certificates of commendation and is the recipient of the honored “Semper Fi Award” aboard the USS Texas Battleship in Houston and The Kingdom Assignment “Well Done Awards” among other honors and endorsements.  Andy has worked with major companies, people and brands like Dillard Department Stores, Toshiba International, The Home Depot, Pavestone Corporation, Machine Gun Preacher Sam Childers, Movie Actress Mayra Leal of “Machete”, “Price of Business” radio show with Kevin Price, Open Carry Texas, Self Defense Fund, and many others to advance opportunities for their business and interests.  He has produced radio and TV commercials and advertising and promotion campaigns, worked in motion picture and music entertainment with major shifts happening in Texas now, led national conversations about personal responsibility and self-defense (attaining a blue belt in Go Kan Ryu Karate), brought attention to human trafficking and rescue, and recently spoke to over 5,000 attendees at a recent political rally.  Through his marketing practice he has advised many thought-leaders to initiate positive change in the marketplace and volunteered to mentor the youth, the homeless, and professionals alike. His most significant life accomplishment is his marriage to his wife (30 years) and raising two teenage girls Kayla (17) and Kenna (14).  Andy is a strong believer in “If it is to be, it is up to me!”

Jim Walker is president of Black Swan Digital Forensics.   He is a seasoned executive with over 30 years’ experience in the federal, state, and local sectors.  Jim has served as a state cabinet official and is experienced at creating and leading multi-dimensional state agencies.  Jim has obtained, distributed, and managed over $200 million in public grants. Jim has served as a county manager in the state of Georgia and a former director of Homeland Security for the State of Alabama.  Jim holds a Masters degree in Public Administration and is an Executive Member of the National Governor’s Homeland Security Advisors Committee.
